Pauliina Satsuki (née Tyni)
For me, dancing is a way to see the world.
It is about sharing, communicating, viewing things from an
unconventional perspective. I'm not too keen on putting life
into boxes. Ultimately, dance, theatre, visual and performing
arts all come down to one thing: to find a form for an idea
and to produce an experience.
Travelling has on me the same effect as dancing; it is a
chance to switch roles, try out, let's say, what it's like
to be Japanese for a while
I've spent longer periods
of time in Australia, Utah and New York, and in the spring
2004 I worked in Kyoto, Japan, for several months.
I got my Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance from The Theatre
Academy of Finland in the spring 2002. Before my professional
training and degree I studied and performed in the Oulu Dance
Studio.
